True story. On October 15, 2015, from 7pm to 9pm at the Stone Spiral in Maplewood, I will be performing my first ever and very own standup comedy show. It’s exciting and anxiety-inducing all at the same time.
This has been a long-time goal of mine, to dip my feet into standup comedy. I started doing standup in January of this year and have been doing an open mic pretty much weekly ever since.
Please, if you are in the area and interested, or know me and wanna travel to see me fall flat on my face with a few laughs along the way, then please come. Stone Spiral is a great jive with good drinks and food. The show is free of charge, but I am allowed to put out the old tip jar.
What you can expect from my comic act?
Well, I tend to do some cultural, news and political humor for warming up, and then also do stories about childhood and high school, and rants about things (like my name, Nathan) or a shirt that I sometimes I wear. I had one person describe my act as jokes about politics and high school. To which, I suppose, they are really one and the same. I also like getting in a few fatherhood stories, as my son gives me some good material from time-to-time.
